Alpha to Omega
Training for Teachers
The course includes theory, practical, and workshop sessions, offering an intensive and comprehensive introduction to Specific Learning Disability. Participants will learn how to utilize multi-sensory teaching approaches, strategies for reading, comprehension, and writing, and how to address the social and emotional needs of children in one-to-one sessions, small groups, or in a heterogeneous classroom
Children with learning challenges are often typecast. In school, they may struggle to focus, seem unwilling to learn and unable to keep up with their grade level. However, such challenges often impact children in other ways; leaving them socially alienated, unable to maintain healthy relationships, and suffering from low self-esteem

“Implementing techniques to serve a heterogenous classroom which today includes students with neuro diversity. In today’s global environment, the teacher is the core ingredient in developing the young generation. A teacher must keep upgrading and honing her skills to keep in par with the highly tech savvy youngster. Unfortunately, in the past the focus was on what to learn in the given content. If a student has some difficulty in keeping in par with his peers, he needs a modified approach to help him how to learn. Teaching, how to overcome his barriers to learn classroom content, falls on the hands of the classroom teacher. Hence, the mainstream teachers or parent or support teacher or individualized therapist should equip themselves with tools and techniques to develop his students’ academic, perception, cognition, and social skills.Â
The courses offered by Alpha to Omega will focus on intervention techniques that will equip the adult to facilitate “how to learn’ basic literacy development, cooperative learning routines, overcoming deficits in math. These are the integral parts of the training. The session presented online and in house, will gradually increase in content and abstraction. Multisensory methodology, content enhancement combined and strategies to mediate the student how to learn are essential components embedded in the courses and short workshops. The teacher not only teaches how to learn, but gears herself or himself to learn new methodologies and be a student for life. Thanks for joining our family who are dedicated to serve all the needs of a classroom.”
